Helping to build a better world

We tell you what this agreement with the NGO Eden Reforestation Projects consists of

and what are our reasons for doing so in Mozambique

Mozambique is the 4th poorest country in the world, suffering from an armed conflict that has displaced more than 500,000 people from their homes and in 2019 was ravaged by Cyclone Idai causing huge floods and hundreds of deaths, and 9 million people lost their homes and livelihoods.

With few options to provide for their families, many of these impoverished communities have been forced to destroy their local environment to survive, cutting down their trees for construction, fuel, heating and agriculture, causing major deforestation in the country.

When forests are cut down and not restored, the impact of deforestation is dramatic as it causes severe flooding, erosion and desertification.

All these conditions have made that in Miel Castiza we think that it is a country in which we can bring our little grain of sand with this beautiful project:

1 Boat = 1 Tree

This is the slogan of the campaign, but more specifically, what we will do with each bottle of Castiza honey sold is that we will send a donation to Mozambique with which we will hire local people to work on tree planting in their communities with qualified staff from the NGO Eden Reforestation Projects.

It’s not just about planting a tree and letting it dry or grow, but about generating a fair and steady income so that they can also provide for their families

This is a medium-term project, as the reforestation effort progresses, healthy forests begin to emerge and all the adverse effects of deforestation begin to disappear.
